With strong product-market fit, multiple distribution channels, and a rapidly growing platform, the initiatives driving the next phase of growth are bigger, more complex, and require more teams to coordinate than ever before. Our most important work now spans nearly every team in the company: major partner launches, company-wide strategic priorities, and new products. We're hiring our founding Director of Strategic Programs to lead that work. You'll own these initiatives from strategy through results, working directly with the COO and executive team to define what success looks like, then bringing Product, Engineering, Partnerships, Marketing, Customer Success, and Operations together to deliver it. This is a founding individual contributor role with high visibility, real influence, and room to grow a team as the work grows. It's built for someone who has seen great program leadership up close and wants to build it from the ground up. The role includes regular travel to Dallas for quarterly leadership sessions, our annual company gathering, and in-person working sessions that bring teams together around major initiatives. What You'll Do Lead Our Most Strategic Initiatives - Lead 5 to 10 high-impact, cross-functional initiatives at a time, including major partner launches, company-wide strategic priorities, and new product launches - Define success before work begins: the problem we're solving, the commitments we've made to partners and customers, and the business results we'll measure - Create a clear charter for each initiative covering goals, scope, timeline, success metrics, and decision owners - Build the overall plan for each initiative and align each team's plan to it - Measure success by outcomes and adoption, and build change management into every launch so what we ship actually gets used Partner With the Executive Team - Take part in quarterly and annual strategic planning with the executive team, and turn the priorities we set into well-run programs with clear owners and milestones - Maintain a company-wide view of current and upcoming initiatives, and lead prioritization conversations as new opportunities emerge - Design and facilitate leadership and program meetings that end in clear decisions and next steps - Give the COO and CEO a clear, honest picture of progress, risks, and the decisions needed Bring Teams Together - Identify dependencies and handoffs early so teams can plan around each other - Establish clear roles and decision rights so every team knows what it owns - Serve as the bridge between business and technical teams, turning business needs into clear requirements - Work alongside partnership and customer-facing leaders to deliver launches that strengthen our most important relationships Build How We Execute at Scale - Design a practical program framework, from intake through launch and post-launch review, that teams find genuinely useful - Create repeatable playbooks for recurring work like partner launches, and improve them after each one - Set up risk management and escalation paths so issues surface early and get resolved quickly - Strike the right balance between structure and speed as we grow What You've Done Required - Spent 8+ years in program management, strategy and operations, transformation, or PMO roles, including at least 3 years leading complex, multi-team initiatives at the Director level or equivalent - Led multiple concurrent programs spanning 4 or more functions, with accountability for the business outcome, not just the timeline - Built program governance that teams actually used: intake, stage gates, charters, decision rights, and escalation paths - Partnered directly with a CEO, COO, or executive team to translate strategy into executable priorities, including preparing and facilitating leadership planning sessions - Bridged business and technical teams on large technology or product initiatives, translating business needs into clear requirements - Driven accountability across teams without direct authority, building trust with functional leaders while making sure commitments held - Led change management alongside delivery, with adoption built into how you defined success - Communicated program health and risk to executives in business language, highlighting what mattered without drowning them in updates - Worked effectively in a remote environment while building strong relationships through regular in-person time Preferred - Worked in fintech, payments, payroll, HR tech, or SaaS, with an understanding of the rigor required in regulated, high-stakes environments - Led launches with external partners or enterprise customers, balancing competing interests across internal and external stakeholders - Sequenced cross-functional work within agile or sprint-based product and engineering teams - Helped a high-growth company move from founder-led execution to repeatable execution at scale - Built a PMO or strategic programs function from the ground up We care more about how you've run complex programs than which industry you ran them in. If you've done this work well somewhere else and learn fast, we want to hear from you.
